The Edmonton Women's Futsal League is here.

For the 2026/2027 season, women's futsal in Edmonton steps forward with its own dedicated league identity, its own competition platform and a stronger place inside the Futsal Edmonton ecosystem.

The launch of the EWFL is about more than a new name or a new colour. It is about creating a platform that reflects the quality, ambition and growth of the women's game in Edmonton.

A Dedicated Identity

The Edmonton Women's Futsal League will carry a distinct purple identity while remaining part of Futsal Edmonton alongside the Edmonton Futsal League.

That allows the women's competition to stand on its own while sharing the same broader standards for match presentation, league information, standings, club coverage, news and digital visibility.

The goal is simple: the women's game should be presented with the same seriousness as the competition taking place on the court.

Serie A And Serie B

The 2026/2027 EWFL structure includes Serie A and Serie B.

The two-division model creates clearer competitive levels and gives clubs room to build stronger programs within the league. The EWFL Cup will be managed separately from regular-season registration.

This structure is designed to support competitive balance while creating a league environment that can grow with the women's game.

Building On A Strong Foundation

Women's teams and players from Edmonton have already made an impact beyond the local league, including representation at provincial and national competition.

The EWFL is intended to strengthen the environment that develops those players and teams before they reach the next level.
