THREE TITLES. NEW FACES. EVERYTHING TO PROVE.

Last season, Edmonton Rangers went undefeated in the Serie A regular season, while FC Viktoria finished close behind with the competition's strongest attacking and defensive numbers. Croatia remained among the leading challengers, and the battle for playoff positions produced its own surprises.

Now the teams return, but not everything looks the same.

New faces. Rebuilding squads. Returning challengers.

The biggest question isn't who was strongest last season. It's who has improved enough to win this one.

Rangers: Can They Take the Next Step?

Three-time EFL champions Edmonton Rangers have set the standard for success in the competition.

Last season, Rangers finished the regular season undefeated, collecting 10 wins and one draw from 11 matches.

But their ambitions stretched well beyond Edmonton.

At the 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship, Rangers came agonizingly close to reaching the national final, pushing Ontario's 9 de Octubre FC Toronto to the limit before falling 3–2 in the semifinal. Toronto went on to become Canadian champions.

It was a performance that demonstrated Rangers could compete with the country's best.

Now they return to Serie A with a different-looking squad.

Will those changes make them stronger? Can they build on their national experience? And can a team that has dominated domestically find another level?

Three titles have established their legacy. What comes next could define it.

FC Viktoria: Regular-Season Giants, Playoff Questions

Few teams have demonstrated the ability to compete with Edmonton Rangers quite like FC Viktoria.

Last season, Viktoria recorded nine wins, one draw and just one defeat during the regular season. Their 70 goals scored and only 17 conceded were the best attacking and defensive records in Serie A.

When Viktoria faced Rangers during the regular season, the two sides battled to a 0–0 draw.

But when the stakes were highest, the story changed.

Despite their impressive regular-season performances, Viktoria struggled to deliver when it mattered most, suffering a heavy defeat against Rangers that exposed the difference between competing for a championship and actually winning one.

It was a disappointing conclusion for a team that had shown so much promise.

Now, with new faces joining the squad, Viktoria enters the 2026/27 season with something to prove.

Will the new additions provide the experience and composure needed in decisive moments? Can Viktoria turn regular-season dominance into playoff success?

And perhaps the biggest question of all:

When they face Rangers again, will Viktoria finally push back?

Croatia: Is Consistency Enough?

Edmonton Croatia has built its reputation on being consistently competitive.

Eight victories in 11 regular-season matches last year placed Croatia third in the standings, firmly among the league's strongest teams.

While other clubs enter the season with significant questions around their squads, Croatia's challenge is different.

Can consistency and experience be enough to move ahead of the competition?

In a league where the margins can be incredibly small, the ability to deliver strong performances week after week remains a valuable asset.

But the pursuit of a championship demands more than consistency alone.

Croatia will be looking to prove it can take that next step.

Sting & RedWolves: The Unknown Factors

Every season brings teams that are difficult to predict.

This year, Sting and RedWolves could be two of Serie A's biggest unknowns.

Both enter the campaign looking to rebuild following seasons that fell short of expectations.

RedWolves showed their potential last year, recording five wins and three draws during the regular season. They also pushed Rangers in a narrow 4–3 defeat.

But potential and consistency are two very different things.

With changes taking place, both clubs have an opportunity to establish a new identity and change the conversation around their teams.

Can their rebuilding efforts produce immediate results?

Or will it take time before these squads find their rhythm?

In a competitive league, the teams nobody can confidently predict may become the most interesting teams to watch.

South West United: A New Chapter

South West United also enters the season in a period of rebuilding.

A changing squad brings uncertainty, but it also creates opportunity.

New combinations, different approaches and a fresh competitive identity could shape the team's campaign.

The challenge will be finding consistency against opponents with established experience at the highest level of the EFL.

Can South West United turn a period of transition into a playoff challenge?

Klondike: Back for More

Klondike returns to Serie A with an impressive record behind them.

Last season, the club dominated the Serie B regular season, finishing unbeaten with 11 victories, one draw and a remarkable goal difference of +50.

Now comes a different challenge.

Serie A brings stronger opposition, greater pressure and less room for mistakes.

Klondike has already demonstrated its ability to win consistently. But can that success translate to the top division?

Will they compete for a playoff position immediately?

The return of Klondike adds another fascinating storyline to the championship race.

AC Milan: Ready to Upset the Established Order?

Edmonton AC Milan has the potential to become one of the most interesting teams in this year's competition.

After recording six wins and finishing fourth in the previous regular season, AC Milan enters the new campaign with a strong-looking squad and ambitions to compete with the leading clubs.

The question isn't simply whether they can reach the playoffs again.

It's whether they can go further.

Can AC Milan challenge Rangers, Viktoria and Croatia? Could they produce one of the upsets that changes the championship race?

In a competition where the difference between a good season and a great one can come down to a single match, AC Milan will be looking to make its presence felt.

BTB & Drillers: Every Point Matters

The playoff race won't be decided by the headline contenders alone.

BTB Soccer Club and Edmonton Drillers also return to a Serie A field where every point could prove valuable.

Last season, BTB recorded five regular-season victories, while Drillers collected three wins and three draws.

Both have an opportunity to establish themselves in the competition's next chapter.

With established contenders, returning teams and rebuilding squads all chasing postseason places, there may be little room for anyone to fall behind.

A Championship That Cannot Be Predicted

The 2026/27 EFL Serie A season promises more than another defence of the title.

Rangers have the history, the national experience and the challenge of evolving.

Viktoria has impressive numbers and new faces.

Croatia has consistency.

Sting, RedWolves and South West United have the opportunity to redefine themselves.

Klondike returns with momentum, while AC Milan looks capable of challenging the established order.

And across the league, every team begins with an opportunity to prove that last season's results don't define what happens next.

Ten teams. Six playoff places. One championship.

The reputation is earned in the past. The next title must be won on the court.
