A New Era for Futsal Edmonton

Futsal Edmonton is entering a new era.

A new identity, an expanded competition structure and the launch of the Edmonton Women's Futsal League mark the next stage in the growth of competitive futsal in Edmonton.

The 2026/2027 season brings the Edmonton Futsal League and the Edmonton Women's Futsal League together inside one Futsal Edmonton ecosystem — one home for clubs, players, matches, standings, news and the continued development of the game.

One Home. Two Leagues.

The Edmonton Futsal League remains the competitive home of the men's game, while the new Edmonton Women's Futsal League creates a dedicated identity and platform for the women's competition.

Both leagues will operate within Futsal Edmonton while maintaining their own competition identity. EFL will carry its blue identity. EWFL will carry its purple identity. Together, they represent a larger vision for the sport in Edmonton.

Raising The Standard

Futsal Edmonton is being built to give the local game a stronger professional standard on and off the court.

That means clearer competition structures, a stronger digital presence, dedicated league and club pages, official match information, standings, news and continued investment in broadcasts and statistics.

The goal is not simply to run another indoor competition. The goal is to build an environment that feels like futsal, presents like futsal and gives clubs and players a platform worthy of the level of competition they bring to the court.

Serie A. Serie B. A Clearer Competition Path.

For 2026/2027, the league structure includes Serie A and Serie B competition across the EFL and EWFL.

The structure creates clearer competitive levels while giving clubs a pathway to grow inside the Futsal Edmonton system. Cup competitions will remain separate and will be managed independently from regular-season registration.

Building A Bigger Pathway

Edmonton clubs and players have already shown that the city can compete beyond the local level. The next step is to strengthen the environment that develops those teams before they reach provincial and national competition.

Futsal Edmonton wants the local league to be part of that pathway — a place where players face meaningful competition, clubs build stronger programs and the sport continues to grow with its own identity.

This season is another step forward, but it is not the finish line.
