PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS. RISING CHALLENGERS. ONE TITLE.
The Edmonton Women's Futsal League is preparing for what promises to be one of its most competitive seasons yet. Alberta's reigning futsal champions are returning. British Columbia's champions are joining the competition. Former league champions are rebuilding, established contenders are chasing another opportunity, and a new generation of players is determined to make its mark. Ten teams. One championship.

Welcome to EWFL Serie A 2026/27.
Drillers: Alberta's Champions Return
Edmonton Drillers enter the new season carrying the title of Alberta Futsal Champions.
After finishing the previous league campaign with 11 wins from 13 matches and scoring 67 goals, the Drillers went on to represent Alberta at the 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship.
Their provincial success and national experience make them one of the teams to watch.
But success also brings expectations. With the rest of the competition looking to close the gap, can the Drillers maintain their standard?
FSJ Futsalistas: From Founding Competitors to BC Champions
FSJ Futsalistas have been part of the Edmonton Women's Futsal League since its very first season, making the journey from Fort St. John to Edmonton to compete against some of Alberta's strongest teams.
Their commitment to the competition has been rewarded with success beyond the league.
The reigning British Columbia women's futsal champions represented their province at the 2026 Canadian Championship, where they faced Alberta champions Edmonton Drillers on the national stage.
Now, these two provincial champions will meet again as familiar EWFL rivals.
For FSJ, the new season is another opportunity to build on years of competition, experience and growth.
Two provincial champions. A rivalry already established. One championship to chase.
BTB: Can They Repeat Their Regular-Season Success?
BTB produced the strongest statistical performance of the 2025/26 regular season.
With 11 wins, 69 goals scored and just 16 conceded, they finished level with Drillers on 33 points but ahead on goal difference.
Those numbers established BTB among the league's leading contenders.
The challenge now is turning another strong campaign into championship success.
Angels: A New Generation of Champions?
The Angels know what it takes to win the Marigold Cup.
Champions in 2025, the club continued to demonstrate its quality last season, recording 10 wins and suffering just one regular-season defeat.
But this season brings a different challenge.
With a new-look roster, the former champions are entering another chapter.
Can the Angels develop a new winning combination and return to the top?
Viktoria: A Contender Looking for More
FC Viktoria remains one of the established contenders in women's futsal.
Last season, Viktoria conceded just 17 goals in 13 regular-season matches, demonstrating the defensive organization that makes them difficult to face.
Their 1–0 victory over BTB showed their ability to compete against the strongest opposition.
Now, as another campaign begins, Viktoria will be looking to take the next step.
Parkland FC: A Remarkable First Chapter
Parkland made an impression in its first league season, earning a place in the playoffs.
For a new team, reaching the postseason was an important achievement and a statement of its competitive ambitions.
Now comes the next challenge.
With a season of experience behind them, Parkland will be looking to build on that foundation and establish themselves as regular playoff contenders.
Aurora: The Playoff Chase Begins Again
Aurora has already demonstrated that it can compete in the EWFL.
A strong and competitive side, Aurora returns with clear ambitions: to reach the playoffs again and challenge the teams at the top.
Last season's experience provides a foundation, but the objective this year is to take another step forward.
Could Aurora become one of the season's biggest challengers?
South West United & Edmonton Scottish United: The Future Is Arriving
Two of the most exciting developing sides in the competition are South West United and Edmonton Scottish United.
Both feature young squads that produced encouraging performances last season, showing the potential of a new generation of women's futsal players in Edmonton.
They enter this campaign with greater experience and stronger ambitions.
For both clubs, the objective is clear: take the next step and compete for a playoff position.
Youth, energy and determination could make these teams particularly interesting to watch.
Ital Canadian SC: Ready to Challenge
Ital Canadian SC completes a competitive Serie A lineup.
In a league where established contenders are being challenged by developing squads and provincial champions, every team has the opportunity to influence the championship race.
The question is which clubs will find the consistency needed to remain competitive when the season reaches its decisive stages.
More Than a Championship Race
The 2026/27 season represents another step forward for women's futsal in Edmonton.
With the reigning Alberta and BC champions competing alongside former league champions, established playoff contenders and ambitious young squads, Serie A offers an exciting combination of experience and emerging talent.
Previous results will create expectations, but they will not determine what happens next.
Every club begins with an opportunity.
Every match matters.
And when the season reaches its final stages, only one team will stand at the top.
The next chapter starts now.
PLAY FASTER. COMPETE HARDER.
